Don't take your eyes off them!
From Gram:
The girls were in the pool late this morning, and I left Banka as life guard saying "Don't take your eyes off them!!!" I went into the house to make lunch. Through the open window, I could hear the girls saying "Watch this, watch me" etc. etc. Then Abby said, "Banka, Gram said not to take your eyes off us!"

Painting at its Best!
After working for a small student painting business one summer in High School, a friend and I decided to launch our own company, "Precision Student Painters". At some point (maybe the second summer), we were faced with a "huge" (at the time, it seemed momentous) decision on whether to spend all of our cash on an expensive, front page add in the shopping news (a whopping $1,000). We battled back and forth on the risk-reward factor, and I think I won :-). The ad was a huge success and the rest of the summer was very busy. Here it is:
Nova stands for No-Vacation
I found the original add (below) for the first job Beth and I had after University. Our plan was always to go to Japan after school, and when we saw this ad, we contacted them. The "interview process" was pretty quick - hello, good heartbeat, half-decent English... you're good to go! In September of 1994, we were off to Tokyo working for Nova - a huge private English school system that was known to stand for "No-vacation" by the teachers, for obvious reasons.

What's a birthday without cake - big smiles from the kids...
