We hadn't heard Robin for a few minutes, which is usually not a good sign... Then we heard an unusual slur ping sound in the bathroom. I peaked around the corner and saw this:

Girls Stories
Some recent funny stories...
Robin was talking to Beth about a girl in school that gets a lot of time outs, and Beth asked about a recent example. Robin said "She said the 'F' word... the 'Fuh...' word, I'm not going to see it, but she said the 'Fuh...' word".
Right, got it Robin.

I was on the front steps tying my shoes, while the girls were in the garage. Suddenly I hear what sounded like raccoons fighting in the garage, and then Robin bursts into a wailing scream. I walk (slowly) over to the garage, and see Robin holding her arm, like she had a new "injury" there. I said "Abby, did you hurt your sister", she says "YES.. but she said the 'F' word... and I don't mean 'Freakin'!'"... I went around the corner to hide my laughter.

Robin said to Tita today "When is Mommy going to be home so I can be bad?"

Yesterday, at the park, about 20 minutes after I had left for Reno for a couple of days, Robbie was sulking on a bench. With her lip quivering she said to Beth "I am not going to play without my Daddy"

Two-wheeler update
So I took Rob to the tennis courts during Abby's soccer practice with her bike... I was amazed to see that she can now ride fully by herself. Stops, starts (the hardest part) and even a one-hander high five to me while riding! Awesome!
Robin's First Day of JK
It was Robin's first day of Junior Kindergarten today. There were no tears - she was excited to go (so much so, that we asked to have her first day moved up from next Monday to today!).
Abby was filling Robin in on all the rules for class, not that Robin paid attention. Abby also began to tell Robin that she knew more than her because she was in Grade 1 - to this too, Robin paid no attention.
Here she is... first in line!
Robin knows a lot of her classmates already - from dropping off Abby every day the last couple of years. Here she is with Francis, Kellen and Amy.

Robin does 2 wheels
We dropped Abby off at school today, and on the way home, Robin said "Daddy, I want to go to the park and take my training wheels off today." It was weird - it was almost like she had equated that with taking the next step in growing up, after seeing her big sister go in to grade 1.
Sure enough, we got to the park, took off the wheels and she was off and running... or, riding! She still can't turn, but she would go 30 seconds at a time on the tennis courts. Good for you Rob!

First day of school
From Beth...
A few tears at breakfast this morning...Abby was nervous and concerned that she wouldn't know where the bathroom was or where to go. We did a lot of talking through things this morning and she felt better. Robbie was consoling her at the schoolyard and told her she was going to have fun. We got there and they post the lists of kids/teachers and of course, Abby and Emily were waiting together. They are not in the same class. In fact, Emily is with Nate and all the other little SK's from their class last year and Abby seems to be the only one not in their class, which is too bad. She seemed okay with it though and Emily and Abby said good-bye and off they went into their own lines. Abby is with Max though, plus a little friend from Sparks (Jamie) and a neighbour from 3 doors down whom she just started playing with (Sophia) so all is well. A few boys from the neighbourhood are in her class as well so she knew lots of kids. Her teacher is Mrs. Romeo and is supposed to be excellent! Abby is staying for lunch today because she made me call Emily's mom last night to find out what she was doing...hope to have her come home most days but she's staying today. Robin is chomping at the bit to go to school, but she starts in a few days.
It's Abby's first day of school. Here she is with Rob (who doesn't start until next week) and her friend Emily.
From Beth...
"I love school"!!! First day quote.
Non-stop chatter on the walk home today. Ms. Romeo was a big hit. Abby told me that Ms. Romeo liked things "perfect", and not surprisingly, that seemed alright with her. She got a loot bag for the first day and an activity book. She has a desk, and is facing another little boy, Eli. She had 2 recesses and a lunch and had lunch with Emily, and her "new friends". She played with "all the kids" at lunch time. They had gym class too. She said they didn't do math and today wasn't even hard. She was smiling ear to ear and can't wait to go back tomorrow.
