After a great trip, the girls got their airport clothes on again and we headed home.

Cycle Haus

I did a great ride this morning with a new group. A local shop (Cycle Haus) has a racing team some of the team along with other locals do a super fast ride with 5 good sprints. We were consistently rolling at over 40km/h and I found myself just hanging on a number of times. Doing a ride for the first time, you also don't know where sprints/accelerations are going to happen so it makes things even more difficult.

Two things I'd never heard before on a ride happened today. While in the paceline, someone shouted out "boar!" - we passed this huge, hairy, wild boar staring us down. Soon after, someone shouted "plane!" - we passed a small commuter plane that had obviously landed on the road several hours ago and rolled/crashed into the bushes at the side of the road. Only in Florida!

Shopping Day

Today was our annual shopping day at the outlet store. After a great ride with the coastal cruiser fast group in the morning, Beth and I were off to Ellenton. The girls spent the day doing beading and other stuff with Gram and Banka. Later in the day, we caught up with them at "sprinkles" where they were face deep in ice cream.
